iPhone OS 2.2.1 Jailbreak Complete Instructions

The short answers are here:

- If you have yellowSnow ed your iPhone 3g then DO NOT UPDATE.
- If you have a factory or carrier unlocked iPhone 3G then you can update and use the quickpwn to jailbreak it. By update I mean backup your iphone in iTunes, then RESTORE in itunes with the new software. To keep your cydia apps use our guide available here:

My advice: WAAAAAIIIITTT! Wait... always be wary of new updates... wait at least a couple of days before updating. I usually tell people to wait for a week just to be safe. If you can't wait, then read below!
